NIO CEO Says Fifth-Generation Battery Swap Stations to Support All Three Brands
NIO founder and CEO William Li said on September 1 that fifth-generation battery swap stations will be compatible with all models across its three brands—NIO, Onvo, and Firefly—covering vehicles from small cars to large SUVs. He added that the company is expanding into value-added services such as power trading to enhance the commercial value of its battery swap model.
On the evening of September 1, William Li, founder, chairman, and CEO of NIO, said during the company's second-quarter 2026 earnings call that its fifth-generation battery swap stations will support all models across the NIO, Onvo, and Firefly brands, covering a full range of vehicle sizes from small cars to large SUVs. Leveraging its standardized and scalable energy operations system, the company has been actively developing value-added services such as power trading to further unlock and expand the commercial potential of the battery swap model.
