On August 8, 2026, Zhong Shanshan, chairman of Nongfu Spring, participated in a television program at a jasmine flower field in Hengzhou, Guangxi, where he introduced the company's jasmine tea factory built with local investment. He detailed the 'premium purchase with floor price' mechanism: for retail growers, the purchase price is set at the average price of the four major local jasmine trading markets, with an additional RMB 0.5 per jin for first-grade flowers and another RMB 0.5 if pesticide residues pass inspection, resulting in an average premium of RMB 1 per jin over market prices. For large cooperative partners, a floor price policy ensures that when the market price falls below RMB 10 per jin, the purchase price is guaranteed at RMB 11 per jin.

During the program, Zhong criticized e-commerce platforms for leveraging their monopoly positions to extract high profits and squeeze the upstream and downstream supply chain. He said, 'This middleman is everywhere, killing off many urban retailers,' and called for 'restrictions on platform power.'
