Nvidia Confirms Final Windows 10 Driver Release in October 2026

Nvidia has confirmed it will release the final GeForce Game Ready driver supporting Windows 10 in October 2026. From November, new game drivers will no longer support the operating system, and Studio creative drivers will follow the same schedule. For Windows 10 users, the most immediate impact is the absence of day-one driver optimizations for new game releases.

After Microsoft ends official Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025, Nvidia had pledged to maintain support for one additional year, and that period is now drawing to a close. The company stated that following October 2026, supported GeForce graphics cards will transition to a quarterly security update cadence, delivering critical fixes and continuing through October 2029.

Users who remain on Windows 10 can continue using the final October driver, but will no longer receive new game optimizations or regular updates, while security maintenance will persist for another three years. This cutoff was part of Nvidia's previously announced 2025 plan, not a new policy, and is now entering its execution phase as October approaches.
