Nvidia to Launch 2026 Distributed Computing Plan, Free Installation of 16-GPU Liquid-Cooled Boxes for Pilot
Nvidia will launch a distributed computing initiative in April 2026, offering free installation of high-end computing boxes on the exterior walls of selected homes, turning them into mini AI data centres. Each box, similar in size to a household air conditioner, contains a liquid cooling system, 16 Blackwell GPUs and four server CPUs, with a value exceeding US$250,000. The pilot, run with SPAN and PulteGroup, covers about 100 households in select communities. Participants pay no upfront costs and receive substantial subsidies for electricity and internet. They will also earn a share of revenue from the computing system, though the exact percentage is undisclosed.
