NextSlide recently announced it is joining OpenAI, with its team members already participating in research and development work related to ChatGPT. NextSlide founder Ahmed Bishri said in a statement on the company's official website that NextSlide aims to build a product that can transform prompts, notes, documents, or research materials into polished, editable presentations. The ultimate goal is to lower the barrier to visual communication and help more people express their ideas clearly. After joining OpenAI, the team will continue to uphold this mission, focusing on building AI products that foster creation, communication, and the transformation of ideas into meaningful outcomes.

Specific financial details of the transaction were not disclosed by either party. Bishri added on LinkedIn that the acquisition was actually completed earlier in 2026, with this announcement coming a few months after the fact. Before founding NextSlide, Bishri was a co-founder of Caper AI, a startup focused on smart shopping carts and frictionless payment, which was acquired by Instacart in 2021.
