Ping An Digital Bank Names Yip Tik-kei Chairman From October 2026
Ping An Digital Bank said Yip Tik-kei will become chairman on 1 October 2026, succeeding Liu Yat-cheung, who has chaired the bank since November 2021 and will step down the same day to become an adviser to the chief executive. Yip has been chairman and an independent non-executive director of Lufax since April 2025, and was founding board chairman of Ping An Digital Bank from August 2019 to November 2021.
Ping An Digital Bank announced that Yip Tik-kei will be appointed chairman with effect from 1 October 2026. Liu Yat-cheung, who has served as the bank's chairman since November 2021, will retire from that role on 1 October 2026 and will be appointed as an adviser to the chief executive after his retirement.
Yip has many years of experience in financial and banking management and has served as chairman and an independent non-executive director of Lufax since April 2025. He previously served as founding board chairman of Ping An Digital Bank, formerly known as Ping An OneConnect Bank (Hong Kong) Limited and PAObank, from August 2019 to November 2021. He has also served as chief executive of the China region at The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited's China regional office and as a general manager at HSBC.
