Postal Savings Bank 2026 Interim Results: NIM at 1.63%, Narrower Decline Outperforms Peers

At its 2026 interim results meeting on August 28, Postal Savings Bank of China reported a net interest margin of 1.63%, down 3 basis points from 2025, with the decline narrowing by 14 basis points year on year and remaining over 30 basis points above comparable peers. The bank directed more assets to key real-economy sectors and improved deposit pricing management.

On August 28, Postal Savings Bank of China (601658. SH, 1658. HK) held its 2026 interim results meeting, attended by President Lu Wei and Vice President Xu Xueming. The bank disclosed a net interest margin of 1.63%, down 3 basis points from 2025, with the decline narrowing by 14 basis points year on year and exceeding comparable peers by more than 30 basis points.

During the first half of the year, the bank allocated more assets to key sectors of the real economy, while on the liability side it increased the share of self-operated deposits and strengthened refined pricing management.
