Reliance Jio Opens Cloud PC Service JioPC to All Internet Users from 1,000 Rupees for Two Months
Reliance Jio has expanded its cloud PC service JioPC to all internet users in India, removing the previous restriction to Jio broadband subscribers. Launched in July 2025, JioPC streams a virtual computer from Jio's cloud to existing devices, offering up to 8 virtual CPUs, 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage. Pricing starts at 1,000 rupees (about $11) for two months, with annual plans ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 rupees.
Reliance Jio has announced the expansion of its cloud PC service, JioPC, to a wider audience. The service, previously limited to Jio broadband users, is now available to anyone in India with an internet connection, regardless of their telecom or broadband provider.
JioPC, launched in July 2025, operates by streaming a virtual computer from Jio's cloud to the user's existing device. Depending on the plan, users can access up to 8 virtual CPUs, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. Jio claims that even computers around eight years old can gain the computing power needed to run modern AI applications through the service, without requiring device replacement or new hardware installation.
The entry-level price for JioPC is 1,000 rupees (approximately $11) for two months. For 12-month plans, the version with 8GB RAM and 500GB storage costs 4,000 rupees (about $42), while the version with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at 5,000 rupees (about $53).
Jio markets JioPC as a way to bring AI capabilities to older computers. The company has not disclosed the specific hardware configuration powering the cloud service, and the published specifications do not mention dedicated AI accelerators for on-device generative AI tasks. JioPC requires a stable internet connection; if the network is interrupted, the service becomes unavailable. Additionally, lower-priced used or refurbished devices are available in the market, offering an alternative way for users to obtain computing capability.
