Renesas Opens Physical AI and Robotics Lab in Beijing, Covering About 30% of Humanoid Robot BOM

Renesas Electronics established its Physical AI business unit on July 1 and announced on August 27 the opening of a Physical AI and Robotics Lab in Beijing. The lab will function as a customer-facing platform for system-level demonstration, validation, and co-creation, aimed at accelerating the company's Physical AI strategy and driving robotics innovation from proof of concept to scaled deployment.

Renesas currently covers about 30% of the bill of materials for humanoid robots, encompassing key areas such as control, power, sensing, AI, software, and ecosystem solutions. The establishment of the lab is intended to provide customers with a more direct environment for technical validation and collaboration, further supporting the implementation and development of related applications.
