SAIC August Vehicle Sales Fall 1.75% to 357,000; NEV Sales Jump 47.06%
SAIC Motor reported August 2026 vehicle sales of 357,000 units, down 1.75% year on year, while new energy vehicle sales surged 47.06% to 190,800 units. Total production for the month fell 8.98% to 343,000 units. For the first eight months of 2026, cumulative sales reached 2.741 million units, a slight decline of 0.45%.
SAIC Motor announced on September 1 that its total vehicle production for August 2026 stood at 343,000 units, down 8.98% year on year, while vehicle sales reached 357,000 units, a decrease of 1.75% from the same period last year.
New energy vehicle sales for August totaled 190,800 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 47.06%. For the period from January to August 2026, SAIC Motor's cumulative vehicle sales amounted to 2.741 million units, down 0.45% compared with the same period in the previous year.
