Samsung Exclusively Supplies OLED Touch Panels for Apple MacBook Ultra, 250,000 Units in Production, Early

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Samsung will exclusively supply OLED touch screen panels for Apple's new MacBook Ultra. The first batch, covering 14-inch and 16-inch panels, will be produced on Samsung's 8.6-generation OLED production line in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. The initial supply volume is about 250,000 units, with mass production scheduled to begin around August. The MacBook Ultra is expected to launch in early 2027.

Due to technical yield bottlenecks, Apple dropped potential partners such as LG Display and BOE during the early development phase, leaving Samsung with the full exclusive supply order for the project.

At the same time, the accompanying macOS 27 operating system will fully introduce a new generation of interaction adapted for touch operations.
