Samsung Unveils Galaxy S26 FE Starting at $699.99
Samsung Electronics has launched the Galaxy S26 FE, a fan-edition phone with a 6.7-inch OLED display, Exynos 2500 processor, and a starting price of $699.99 in the U. S. The device retains key specs from its predecessor, including a 4900mAh battery and triple rear camera, while adding AI-driven software features and a wider front camera lens. Pricing starts $50 higher than the S25 FE, and the 256GB model costs $799.99.
Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 FE. Positioned as a "fan edition" device, the new phone follows the product approach of its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 FE, with limited changes to core hardware. The main improvements center on a new-generation Exynos chip, a wider front camera lens, and AI software features previously introduced in flagship and foldable models.
The Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch OLED display, a 4900mAh battery, and a triple rear camera system, all key specifications that remain unchanged from the Galaxy S25 FE released a year ago. Under the hood, the new model switches to the Exynos 2500 processor. The front camera remains at 12 megapixels but its field of view expands from 80 degrees to 85 degrees, allowing more people or environmental content to be captured.
In terms of design, the Galaxy S26 FE adopts a glossier body finish and introduces a raised camera module design to align with the rest of the Galaxy S26 series. Color options include graphite gray, blueberry blue, and pistachio green, with the latter matching the shade used on the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Blueberry blue is a brighter evolution of the previous generation's dark blue finish. Pricing for the Galaxy S26 FE starts at $699.99 in the U. S. for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version, $50 higher than the S25 FE, while the 256GB version is priced at $799.99.
From a specifications standpoint, the S26 FE is nearly identical to the Galaxy S26 Plus in body size and weight. The S26 FE's screen is not smaller, but it has a lower resolution. Battery capacity and wired charging specifications are similar, with wireless charging at 15W. The Galaxy S26 Plus offers more memory and a more powerful chip, as well as higher-spec telephoto and ultra-wide cameras. At launch, the Galaxy S26 Plus was priced at $1099.99, but the 256GB version has since dropped to $899.99, only $100 more than the 256GB S26 FE.
Software features are the main upgrade area for the Galaxy S26 FE. The new phone includes My FanCam, a video editing feature that uses AI to automatically crop video footage and continuously track a specified subject. The Audio Eraser feature has been expanded to work not only on user-recorded videos but also on third-party content apps such as YouTube and Netflix, reducing background noise and highlighting dialogue. The camera app adds a horizontal-lock video recording option for more stable landscape shots. Samsung has also upgraded its daily briefing feature, Now Brief, allowing users to create AI-driven custom cards to track weather, health data, or preferred web content.
The Galaxy S26 FE also includes Now Nudge, a feature previously introduced on the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8. In the second quarter of 2026, global smartphone shipments reached 286 million units, up 6.5% year on year. Samsung ranked second with 53.5 million units shipped, holding an 18.7% market share, down 0.4 percentage points from the same period a year earlier. Apple shipped 41.5 million units in the quarter, representing a 14.5% market share.
