Shanghai Electric Global Capital Issues RMB1.5 billion Free Trade Zone Offshore Bonds, a Global First

On August 12, Shanghai Electric Global Capital, an overseas subsidiary of Shanghai Electric Group, issued RMB1.5 billion in three-year free trade zone offshore bonds at a coupon rate of 1.8%. The issuance, supported by China Central Depository & Clearing, set a record for the largest single issuance in the free trade zone offshore bond market and marked the world's first corporate free trade zone offshore bond as well as the first such bond listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

On August 12, China Central Depository & Clearing supported the successful issuance of RMB1.5 billion in three-year free trade zone offshore bonds by Shanghai Electric Global Capital, an overseas subsidiary of Shanghai Electric Group, with a coupon rate of 1.8%. The issuance set a record as the largest single issuance in the free trade zone offshore bond market, while also becoming the world's first corporate free trade zone offshore bond and the first free trade zone offshore bond listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

This issuance marks significant further progress in the development of the free trade zone offshore bond market, signaling the expansion of market issuers from financial institutions to high-quality real economy enterprises, thereby enriching the diversity of market participants and product offerings.
