Sichuan Governor Meets Otis CEO to Advance Southwest Manufacturing Base

Sichuan Governor Shi Xiaolin met with Otis Worldwide Chairman, CEO, and President Judy Marks in Chengdu on September 4, urging the elevator maker to accelerate the construction of its Southwest manufacturing and delivery base. Shi highlighted opportunities from China's "two new" policies and called for deeper market engagement, product innovation, and talent development. Sichuan pledged to improve its business environment to support foreign enterprises.

On September 4, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of Sichuan Province, met with Judy Marks, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Otis Worldwide Corporation, in Chengdu. Shi expressed hope that Otis would leverage its advantages as an industry leader to push forward the high-standard construction of the Southwest manufacturing and delivery base and ensure its early commencement. She encouraged the company to seize policy opportunities such as China's "two new" initiatives, deepen its presence in the Sichuan market in accordance with market principles, and continue to provide high-quality, safe products and maintenance services. Shi also urged Otis to expand the research, development, manufacturing, and application of new technologies and products in Sichuan, cultivate more highly skilled talent, and help strengthen the local equipment manufacturing industry chain. Sichuan, she said, will continue to foster a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment to ensure that foreign enterprises can operate with confidence and grow stronger, achieving more practical cooperation results and promoting high-quality development and corporate upgrading for mutual benefit.
