SoftBank Group reduced its TSMC American Depositary Receipt holdings by 71.5%, leaving 565,000 shares valued at roughly $190 million. The move follows a full divestment of Nvidia shares in November 2025 and significantly lowers SoftBank's exposure to the chip sector.

SoftBank Group disclosed in a filing with the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it has slashed its holdings of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. American Depositary Receipts by 71.5%, reducing the position from approximately 1.985 million to 565,000 shares. Based on recent trading prices, the remaining stake is valued at roughly $190 million.

During 2025, SoftBank actively increased its TSMC stake, purchasing shares worth approximately $330 million over the course of the year. As of March 31, 2026, the company's prior TSMC position was valued at approximately $671 million. The latest sale represents a significant reduction in SoftBank's exposure to the chip manufacturing sector in a single transaction.

The group had previously sold its entire stake in Nvidia in November 2025. Even at the peak of its TSMC holdings, SoftBank's stake represented a relatively small position relative to TSMC's total market capitalization, which exceeded $800 billion.
