SoftBank Group first-quarter: Intel stake yields 1.3 trillion yen, Vision Fund up 1.7 billion
SoftBank Group reported its fiscal first-quarter results for the period ended June. The company recorded a 1.3 trillion yen gain from its stake in U. S. chipmaker Intel, following an approximately 2 billion dollar investment announced in 2025. The gain helped its investment segment, excluding the Vision Fund, post a segment profit of 1.05 trillion yen.
The Vision Fund, whose portfolio includes OpenAI and ByteDance, saw its value increase by 1.7 billion dollars in the quarter, mainly due to a 2.2 billion dollar increase in the value of SoftBank's stake in ByteDance, offset by declines in the value of companies such as PayPay.
