Shandong Laiyang Nuclear Power Project Gets State Council Approval, to Build Two CAP1400 Units

China's State Council has approved the Shandong Laiyang nuclear power project, including units 1 and 2, after a review by its executive meeting. Diantou Chanrong will establish a new company, Guodian Tou Nuclear Power (Laiyang) Nuclear Energy Co. , Ltd. , as the project owner responsible for investment, construction, and operation. The project will build two CAP1400 (Guohe No. 1) passive pressurized water reactor units, each with a rated capacity of 1,543 MW. The new project company is not yet formed, and preparatory work continues under the existing Guodian Tou Laiyang Nuclear Energy Co.

Following a review by the State Council executive meeting, the Shandong Laiyang nuclear power project's units 1 and 2 have received approval. Diantou Chanrong will establish Guodian Tou Nuclear Power (Laiyang) Nuclear Energy Co. , Ltd. as the owner entity for the approved project, responsible for project investment, construction, and operation management.

This phase of the project plans to build two CAP1400 (Guohe No. 1) passive pressurized water reactor nuclear power units, each with a rated capacity of 1,543 MW. The new project company has not yet been established. The existing Guodian Tou Laiyang Nuclear Energy Co. , a subsidiary of Diantou Chanrong, will continue to advance the preliminary work and investment construction related to the Laiyang nuclear power project. All construction preparation work is proceeding in an orderly manner.
