Sweden's Top 10 Startup Rounds Total EUR 1.21 Billion; Neko Health Leads
Swedish startups completed their ten largest funding rounds between January 1 and August 14, 2026, raising approximately EUR 1.21 billion in total. Stockholm-based companies accounted for eight of the ten rounds, with Neko Health and Lovable together representing about 79% of the total. Neko Health led with a EUR 612.7 million Series C, followed by Lovable's EUR 343 million Series C. The rounds spanned health technology, AI software, legal technology, fintech, insurtech, semiconductors and consumer e-commerce.
Between January 1 and August 14, 2026, Swedish startups completed their ten largest funding rounds, raising approximately EUR 1.21 billion in total. Eight of the companies are based in Stockholm, and the two largest rounds, Neko Health and Lovable, together accounted for about 79% of the total. Rankings are based on the size of rounds announced or completed during the period, excluding venture capital fund raises, acquisitions, grants, loans and credit facilities; for extensions of earlier rounds, only new capital raised in 2026 was counted.
Ranked tenth is Lightbringer, a legal technology company in Malmo, which completed an EUR 8.6 million Series A round in June, co-led by 6 Degrees Capital and Newion, with proceeds earmarked for US market expansion and product development. Ninth is Bits, a Stockholm-based fintech infrastructure company, which raised EUR 12 million in a round led by Alstin Capital, with participation from Cherry Ventures, Unusual Ventures and Alliance Ventures, to enhance automation of financial crime and compliance processes and expand European data coverage. Eighth is Stockholm's Pit, which emerged from stealth in May with a EUR 13.6 million round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Founded by former executives of Voi, Klarna and iZettle, the company develops custom AI-native software for enterprise operations.
Seventh is AlixLabs, a semiconductor company in Lund, which completed a EUR 15 million Series A in the first quarter of 2026, of which EUR 14.1 million was subscribed in November 2025. The proceeds will accelerate product development, expand technology capabilities and strengthen partnerships with semiconductor manufacturers. Sixth is Quartr, a Stockholm-based financial data company, which raised EUR 15.6 million in August in a round led by existing investor Altos Ventures, with SEB joining as a new investor, to accelerate product development and expand coverage of globally listed company data. Fifth is legal AI company Legora, which announced an additional EUR 42 million in April, extending its Series D to a total of EUR 513 million at a valuation of EUR 4.7 billion. New investors include Atlassian and NVentures, the venture arm of NVIDIA.
Fourth is Lassie, a Stockholm-based pet insurance technology company, which completed a EUR 63.2 million Series C in February with participation from Balderton Capital, Felix Capital, Inventure, Passion Capital and Stena Sessan, for European expansion and increased AI applications. Third is Nordic Knots, a Stockholm-based home e-commerce company, which secured approximately EUR 86 million in new funding in March at a valuation of EUR 1.9 billion, in a round led by Imaginary Ventures. The proceeds will support international retail expansion, product development and brand growth; the US remains its largest market.
Second is Lovable, a Stockholm-based AI software creation platform, which completed a EUR 343 million Series C this week at a valuation of EUR 11.4 billion, led by Menlo Ventures with EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund as co-lead, for platform, infrastructure and global team building. The round comes less than a year after its EUR 281 million Series B in December 2025. First is Neko Health, a Stockholm-based health technology company, which announced a EUR 612.7 million Series C in July, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with O. G. Venture Partners as co-lead, for US market launch, preventive health research and technology investment. The company previously completed a EUR 250 million Series B in January 2025.
As of August 14, 2026, Neko Health ranks as the largest startup funding round in Sweden this year, followed by Lovable in second place and Nordic Knots in third. The ten rounds span health technology, AI software, legal technology, fintech, insurtech, semiconductors and consumer e-commerce.
