Syngenta Files Confidentially for Hong Kong IPO to Raise About USD 5 Billion

If the offering succeeds, it would rank among the largest fundraisings in the Hong Kong stock market in recent years. Subject to regulatory approval, the company could list as early as 2027.

Syngenta had originally planned to submit its listing application in June 2026 and hoped to complete the listing within 2026, with the same target fundraising size of about USD 5 billion. Affected by the situation in the Middle East and the US-Iran war, supplies of fertilizer raw materials were disrupted and crop and fertilizer markets were hit, delaying the listing plan and putting the previously submitted application on hold.

On operating figures, Syngenta's EBITDA for the first half of 2026 was USD 2.4 billion, equivalent to about HKD 18.72 billion, up 2% year on year. Revenue was USD 12.2 billion, down 2% year on year, mainly reflecting business restructuring and a strategy focused on high-quality business. EBITDA for the second quarter of 2026 was USD 1 billion, down 2% year on year, while revenue was USD 5.7 billion, down 7% year on year.
