Take-Two Interactive has filed multiple subpoena applications with a US federal district court seeking information related to the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) video leak. The company has applied to Microsoft and Discord to disclose records of online accounts that posted or shared leaked content before the game's November release, including user data and associated OneDrive or Xbox account information.

A subpoena application filed with the Southern District of New York on August 20 states that the copyrighted material includes audiovisual content, artistic works, images, dialogue, and other creative elements. Take-Two, through its counsel, submitted a sworn declaration confirming that the purpose of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) subpoena is to obtain the identities of alleged infringers and that such information will be used solely to protect the company's rights. The application cites a GitHub repository that published infringing content and requires Microsoft to provide, by September 4, all internal business and investigative records relating to Microsoft's inquiry into the identity of “cyberleek”, in order to identify users, individuals, or entities associated with that identity.

The application also requires Microsoft to provide identifying information for user accounts that communicated with specified Discord servers from June 1, 2026 to the present, including account IDs, registered email addresses, IP addresses at registration and last login, phone numbers, linked connections (such as Google or Xbox), device identifiers, and content in their OneDrive accounts related to Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar, or Cyberleek. Discord must provide, by the deadline, records of user accounts that communicated with usernames such as “CYBERLEEK”, “CINEMATICROCKSTAR”, and “Surfer24kTM”, and servers such as “Ødyssey. gg” and the “DarkViperAU editor server”.

The last server was prepared for popular GTA 5 streamer Matthew “Matt” Judge. He noted that Rockstar has not contacted him and speculated that the company would reach out if it believed he held inside information.

The identity of the individual or group that leaked multiple gameplay videos remains unknown. The videos exposed new features of GTA 6 and previously unseen world and gameplay mechanics. The leaked content was released under the alias “Cyberleek” and distributed through a website. Rockstar has not commented on the matter.
