Tencent Video Tests AI Creation Platform WorkSolo with Credit Subscription

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Tencent Video's intelligent creation platform division is testing WorkSolo, an AIGC content creation platform that integrates AI short drama, interactive film, and free canvas modes. It follows the industrial-grade WorkRally for comic-to-animation projects. WorkSolo adopts a free trial, membership, and credit-based model: free users get 100 credits, basic members 900 credits per month for 900 images and 200 videos, and premium members 3,000 credits for 3,000 images and 750 videos. The platform remains in beta, with official launch details pending.

Tencent Video's intelligent creation platform division is internally testing an AIGC content creation platform called WorkSolo, which integrates three core creation modes: AI short drama, interactive film, and free canvas. The division previously launched WorkRally, an industrial-grade AI platform for comic-to-animation production, primarily serving institutional teams and large-scale premium comic-to-animation projects with an industrialized pipeline, team collaboration, and professional filmmaking AI agents. The two platforms have distinctly different positioning, forming a dual-layer product matrix for Tencent Video in the AIGC content space. WorkSolo is currently in beta testing; the final launch date and full feature set will be announced officially.

WorkSolo is a web-based AIGC creation platform for creators, supporting three modes. The AI short drama mode focuses on short series and micro-movie production: users input text ideas or upload images to start creation, with support for script generation and AI-driven video output, suitable for adapting web novels into short dramas and short video series. The interactive film mode enables no-code production of interactive films and games, supporting branching storylines and multiple endings — a core differentiator from similar AI video tools. The free canvas mode offers an open-ended infinite creative space. Created works are saved in a "works library."

On the monetization side, WorkSolo adopts a model of free trial, membership subscription, and credit-based computing power. Free trial users receive 100 credits upon registration and an additional 10 credits daily for logging in, with access only to basic AI video capabilities. Basic members receive 900 credits per month, enabling the generation of 900 images and 200 videos. Premium members receive 3,000 credits per month, allowing 3,000 images and 750 videos. Both membership tiers support purchasing credit top-up packs at a discount, with monthly and annual subscription options.

In the long term, after creators complete their videos on the platform, they could theoretically access Tencent Video's distribution channels and participate in revenue sharing. Additionally, Tencent's official recruitment platform has posted multiple WorkSolo-related positions based in Los Angeles, USA. It is currently unclear whether WorkSolo will launch a separate overseas version or adapt its features for international markets.

Competition in the long-form video AIGC tools space is intensifying. iQiyi has launched Nadou Pro, an industrial AI production pipeline for professional filmmaking teams; Mango TV has introduced Mango Lingchuang, leveraging its proprietary script library to attract creators; and Alibaba's Shuqi has launched the content creation platform ManClaw. Meanwhile, third-party independent AI short drama tools such as Youxi AI and Chengxing Dream Factory have emerged, emphasizing lightweight one-click video generation. The market has reached a consensus: simply competing on text-to-video generation capabilities is insufficient to build a long-term moat. Creators need not only tools for content production but also care about distribution channels, traffic acquisition, and revenue stability after completion. An integrated closed loop of creation tools, traffic channels, and commercial monetization is the core competitive advantage.

Horizontally, most competing products show clear biases: iQiyi's Nadou Pro leans heavily toward professional teams, lacking a lightweight entry point for solo creators; third-party AI short drama tools have low entry barriers but generally lack their own traffic pools, forcing creators to find distribution channels on their own, resulting in a broken monetization chain. Tencent Video has built a dual-layer system combining the industrial-grade comic-to-animation platform WorkRally and the lightweight solo creator platform WorkSolo.
