Tianwei Food says Tantanxiang founder Peng Fengxiang has died
Peng Fengxiang, founder and general manager of Hunan Tantanxiang Food Technology, a majority-owned subsidiary acquired by Tianwei Food in 2026, has died. Tantanxiang, founded in 2012, sells chopped chili products under the Tantanxiang brand and reported 2025 revenue of RMB305 million and net profit of RMB59.37 million. Tianwei Food bought 60% for RMB422 million in June 2026. Peng had pledged minimum revenue and cumulative profit targets for 2026 to 2028.

Founded in 2012, Tantanxiang Food mainly sells chopped chili products under the Tantanxiang brand through distributors, directly operated supermarkets, new retail and other channels. It generated operating revenue of RMB305 million and net profit of RMB59.3667 million in 2025. In June 2026, Tianwei Food, through its wholly owned subsidiary Sichuan Ruisheng Investment Management Co. , acquired 60% of Tantanxiang Food for RMB422 million, obtaining control of the company. Peng Fengxiang made performance commitments under which Tantanxiang Food would achieve operating revenue of no less than RMB320 million, RMB336 million and RMB353 million in 2026, 2027 and 2028, respectively, with cumulative net profit of no less than RMB150 million over the three years.
Through the acquisition of Tantanxiang Food, Tianwei Food entered the Hunan-style compound condiment segment and is jointly developing one-bag ready-to-cook Hunan-style compound condiment products with Tantanxiang Food. On channels, Tantanxiang Food had previously focused on offline channels, and the company plans to help it develop more emerging channels, including online and customized supermarket offerings.
