Tonghua Dongbao and Gan & Lee Post H1 2026 Gains, Disclose Overseas Approvals
Chinese insulin makers Tonghua Dongbao and Gan & Lee published their 2026 interim reports on Aug 24-25. Gan & Lee posted revenue of RMB 2.223 billion, up 7.56% year-on-year, and net profit of RMB 610 million, up 1.01%. Tonghua Dongbao reported revenue of RMB 1.553 billion, up 11.13%, and net profit of RMB 296 million, up 37.32%. In overseas market expansion, Tonghua Dongbao's human insulin injection series obtained a GMP certificate from Malaysia, its human insulin active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) received approval from Pakistan's DRAP, and its liraglutide injection was approved for marketing in Nicaragua and obtained a Brazilian GMP certificate. The insulin aspart injection developed in collaboration with Jianyou received US FDA marketing approval in July 2026, becoming the first domestically produced insulin aspart to gain US FDA authorization; the production base for its insulin aspart API also obtained EU GMP certification. As for Gan & Lee, its insulin products have secured market access in 21 countries and regions, with international revenue surging 92.33% year-on-year. Its self-developed insulin glargine injection, insulin aspart injection, and insulin lispro injection received European Commission approval, its insulin glargine product was approved in Ethiopia, and its insulin glargine pre-filled pen was approved in Algeria.
Regarding R&D pipelines, Tonghua Dongbao's semaglutide injection marketing application has been accepted by the CDE, its ultra-rapid-acting insulin lispro completed phase 3 clinical trials, its insulin degludec/liraglutide injection also completed phase 3, and innovative projects such as GLP-1/GIP dual-target agonists have made progress. Gan & Lee's Bofanglutide injection met primary endpoints in multiple clinical studies, its ultra-long-acting insulin weekly formulation GZR4 injection completed a pivotal phase 3 study, and other pipeline products including GZR33 and GZR101 injections are advancing in an orderly manner.
