United Water and Shanghai Jinyu Sign Strategic Agreement for First AI Smart Water Demonstration Projects
United Water and Shanghai Jinyu Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement on August 7 to launch the first batch of AI smart water demonstration projects. Shanghai Jinyu is the commercialization entity of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's AI and Microstructure Laboratory. United Water, a listed water utility with 27 domestic operating units, one overseas water supply company, one overseas wastewater treatment operator, and nine wastewater plants, will collaborate on industry-academia-research innovation, national R&D initiatives, and benchmark construction to advance marketization and internationalization of technologies.
On the afternoon of August 7, United Water and Shanghai Jinyu Technology Co. , Ltd. held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony. Shanghai Jinyu Technology Co. is the industry-academia-research commercialization entity of the AI and Microstructure Laboratory of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The cooperation will promote the implementation of the first batch of AI smart water demonstration projects.
United Water is a comprehensive listed water utility. Over 23 years since its establishment, it operates 27 domestic operating companies, one overseas water supply company, and one overseas wastewater treatment operating company, running nine wastewater treatment plants in total. The company has defined 'smart water + AI + robotics' as its development direction and has developed and applied products including smart unmanned vessels, sedimentation tank cleaning robots, track inspection robots, and inspection robot dogs.
Under the agreement, both parties will cooperate in joint industry-academia-research innovation, national-level science and technology project tackling, and benchmark engineering construction, to promote the marketization and international layout of technological achievements, and enhance water resource control and efficient utilization capabilities.
