Walmart announced this week it will deliver Dunkin' products, including iced coffee and maple doughnuts, from its stores, with plans to expand to most of Dunkin's roughly 10,000 US locations over the next year. The service builds on Walmart's existing delivery partnership with Subway. Walmart's latest earnings showed soft sales, but its under-30-minute delivery business grew 48% in the quarter.

Walmart announced this week that it will begin delivering Dunkin' products, including iced coffee and maple doughnuts, from its own stores, with plans to expand to most of Dunkin's approximately 10,000 US locations over the next year, many of which operate entirely outside Walmart stores. The off-premise delivery experiment builds on Walmart's earlier delivery program with in-store Subway restaurants. Dunkin' delivery will be offered through Walmart's newly launched "Walmart Restaurant Delivery" service, for which Subway was the first partner.

Walmart's latest earnings report showed soft sales, which pressured its share price, but its US express delivery business, with delivery times under 30 minutes, grew 48% in the quarter. Greg Kassi, Walmart's senior vice president, said in a blog post that since the launch of Subway delivery, nearly 65% of restaurant orders have been delivered together with Walmart merchandise. Among orders containing both Subway and Walmart items, one in five came from customers using the "Express Delivery" service for the first time, and nearly 30% of those customers used the service again within 30 days.
