WeChat Adds 'Recall Undo' Feature Allowing Users to Remove Message Recall Notices

WeChat has introduced a new feature that allows users to delete the prompt text that appears after a message is recalled. The feature is being progressively rolled out to iOS and Android users, who can now remove the previously fixed recall notification from their chat pages following a recall operation.

WeChat also offers a range of recall tools. After sending a message in error, users can long-press the message within two minutes to recall it, and within five minutes of recalling, tap "Re-edit" to restore the original content to the input box for modification and resending. If multiple erroneous messages have been sent consecutively, users need not recall them individually; long-pressing any one message and selecting "Recall all messages sent this time" will destroy the entire batch at once. The "poke" function supports recall within two minutes, and the recipient will receive no notification. File recall is available for up to three hours, covering formats such as Word, Excel, PPT, PDF and compressed archives. In addition, important photos can be sent via the "file" option to take advantage of the longer recall window.
