WeChat Tests One-Tap Unread Messages and Separate Red Packet Alerts
WeChat is rolling out two features in a limited trial to help users avoid missing important information. One allows users to view all unread chats with a single long press on the "WeChat" button in the bottom-left corner. The other adds separate icons for unclaimed red packets or transfers in the chat interface, enabling quick location without scrolling through history. Both features are currently in gray-scale testing and not yet fully launched.
WeChat has introduced two features aimed at helping users reduce the chance of missing important information. When there are unread messages in the app, users can long-press the "WeChat" button in the bottom-left corner to view all unread chats at once. The other feature concerns payment reminders. When a chat contains unclaimed red packets or uncollected transfers, a separate reminder icon for "Red Packet" or "Transfer" will appear in the upper-right corner of the chat window, allowing users to quickly locate them without scrolling through past messages.
