Windows 11 Home OOBE 'Learn More' Link Bypasses Microsoft Account Login

As of September 2026, Windows 11 Home requires users to register and sign in with a Microsoft account during the out-of-box experience (OOBE). Methods previously available to skip account sign-in, including OOBE\BYPASSNRO, registry modifications, and the start ms-cxh:localhost command, have been removed by Microsoft in successive version updates, and users can no longer create a local account normally through these methods. Attempting to bypass sign-in with a fake account is likewise ineffective.

In the OOBE account sign-in screen, below the field for entering an account, there is a long text introduction set by Microsoft that includes a 'Learn More' hyperlink. The link is part of the introductory text and is normally used to display additional content. After the user clicks the link, the system loads the details and automatically redirects to the local account creation page. This redirect occurs while OOBE is fetching content over the network. Through this action, users can create a local account without signing in with a Microsoft account.
