Xingyu Apologizes and Compensates After Rescinding 107 Graduate Job Offers

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems apologized and offered compensation after terminating job offers to 107 recent graduates, following a backlash linked to its smart headlight project with NIO. The company will provide three months of living subsidies, free accommodation, job placement assistance, and six months' salary if employment is not secured within three months.

In 2025, William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, discussed the company's collaboration with Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems on the new ES8 smart headlights during the 32nd episode of his "ET9 Living Room" program. Li noted that the low-beam brightness of the headlights is 80% higher than the industry average.

Recently, Xingyu drew public criticism after rescinding job offers to 107 recent graduates, prompting many netizens to flood the program's comment section with calls to boycott the company.

In response, Xingyu issued an apology and outlined three measures: providing an immediate three-month living subsidy and continued free accommodation; actively connecting graduates with suitable positions at other companies and organizing dedicated job fairs; and offering six months' salary as compensation if graduates fail to secure employment within three months.
