Xinjiang Oilfield No. 81 Station Starts New Shallow Cooling Unit, Raising Daily Capacity to 3.9 Million Cubic

The largest oilfield associated gas processing station in China has recently been commissioned. The new shallow cooling unit with a daily capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters at the No. 81 Natural Gas Processing Station of PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield's No. 2 Oil Production Plant has officially entered service, raising the station's total daily associated gas processing capacity to 3.9 million cubic meters and making it the largest such facility in the country. In recent years, as oil and gas fields have been gradually developed, associated gas output at the No. 2 Oil Production Plant has continued to rise, and existing equipment could no longer meet production demands. During natural gas processing, the shallow cooling unit condenses heavier, higher-value components in the associated gas into liquid through cooling, while discharging clean light gas. Construction of the new unit began in September 2025, employing solid adsorption desulfurization, molecular sieve dehydration, and propane refrigeration dehydrocarbonization processes. During construction, the project adopted an innovative modular engineering acceptance model, under which rectification runs alongside construction: each module is accepted and corrected as soon as it is completed, with problem feedback and remediation progressing simultaneously. This approach enabled the project to be completed and commissioned in just 270 effective working days, 90 days ahead of the original schedule, significantly reducing construction costs. As a core project for quality improvement and efficiency enhancement at Xinjiang Oilfield Company in 2026, the commissioning of this unit marks key progress in stabilizing production and increasing efficiency in the old production blocks of the No. 2 Oil Production Plant, and provides a standardized, replicable construction template for the renovation and expansion of Xinjiang Oilfield's mature areas.
