Yandong Micro Builds 8-Inch SiN Line with 3,000 Monthly Wafers, 12-Inch Metalens Project Leads Industry
At its 2026 interim results briefing on September 8, Yandong Micro said it has built a leading domestic 8-inch SiN platform production line with a monthly capacity of 3,000 wafers and significantly improved yield. The company also reported that its 12-inch metalens project has overcome technical hurdles and reached an industry-leading level, as it continues to strengthen its silicon photonics ecosystem and mass production capabilities.
At its 2026 interim results briefing held on September 8, Yandong Micro stated that it is focusing on two main areas—optical chips and specialty processes—and has successfully brought in multiple new customers, with industrial synergies continuing to materialize. The company has built a domestically leading 8-inch SiN platform mass production line, which reached a capacity of 3,000 wafers per month during the reporting period, with yield significantly improved from previous levels.
On the technology front, both SiN waveguides and Si waveguides have achieved advanced performance levels in the industry. The 12-inch metalens project has overcome key technical challenges and reached an industry-leading level. The company said it will continue to advance the construction of the silicon photonics industry ecosystem and consolidate its mass production capabilities in optical chips and specialty processes.
