Yueda Kia announced the new Seltos SUV will open pre-sales in China on August 13. The compact SUV features a 27-inch ultra-thin wide display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, and Baidu ERNIE Bot AI. Global sales of the Seltos reached about 300,000 units in 2025, with over 177,000 sold in the first half of this year. The vehicle offers two powertrains: a 1.5-liter engine with IVT and a 1.5T with 8AT, producing up to 200 hp.

On July 28, Yueda Kia released a teaser video announcing that its globally best-selling SUV, the new Seltos, will enter the Chinese market and officially begin pre-sales on August 13. The Seltos, first launched in 2019, is a core strategic model for Kia globally, with worldwide sales of approximately 300,000 units in 2025 and over 177,000 units sold in the first half of this year.

In terms of design, the new Seltos follows Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy. The front features a wide vertical-texture grille and Star-Map LED headlights. The side profile is dynamic and sharp, complemented by bright silver side trim, flush door handles, and geometric aluminum alloy wheels. The rear Star-Map taillights extend both horizontally and vertically, with a hidden rear wiper design. Inside, the new model features a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a horizontal ultra-thin wide display extending across the dashboard, and a nearly one-square-meter panoramic sunroof. The center console includes dual cup holders and a storage slot. The vehicle is equipped with the largest-in-class 27-inch ultra-thin wide display and a 10-inch ultra-thin interactive screen, paired with a rotary electronic gear shifter. Air conditioning and vehicle control buttons use a piano-key switch design. Exterior colors include five single-tone and two two-tone options, with the X-Line variant offering exclusive Spark Orange and Matte Gray finishes. Interior options include three regular colors and an X-Line exclusive black interior.

The X-Line version features 11 exclusive design elements, including a blackened logo, exclusive rear badge, and blackened aluminum alloy wheels.

The new Seltos has upgraded dimensions, with length increased by 75 mm, width by 30 mm, and wheelbase by 60 mm, resulting in overall dimensions of 4,460 mm by 1,830 mm by 1,640 mm and a wheelbase of 2,690 mm. The trunk has a length of 929 mm, width of 1,060 mm, and volume of 483 liters, expandable to 1,454 liters when the second-row seats are folded flat. The front center armrest features an expandable design with integrated control switches, wireless charging pad, and rotating cup holders. The rear center armrest cup holders and a storage box under the rear air outlet enhance storage convenience. The second-row seatbacks support multi-angle adjustment. The trunk is equipped with a two-position adjustable partition and a total of 20 slots and four removable multifunctional hooks on the sides, top, and bottom, compatible with the Kia Add Gear open-source mounting system.

The new Seltos is equipped with a new digital cockpit co-developed by the local Chinese R&D team and Chinese users. It comes standard with a 27-inch ultra-thin wide display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip. The 27-inch display uses an aerospace-grade magnesium alloy body and supports split-screen for driver and front passenger. The 10-inch ultra-thin interactive screen avoids visual obstruction from the steering wheel. The Snapdragon 8295P chip uses a 5-nanometer automotive-grade process, supporting millisecond touch response and smooth voice interaction. Front dual-zone voice control supports wake-free operation, continuous dialogue, and "see-and-say" functionality. The infotainment system integrates the Baidu ERNIE Bot AI large model and is compatible with HiCar, CarPlay, and Carlink phone connectivity, as well as BLE keyless entry. The system is deeply adapted to the Chinese local app ecosystem, offering apps such as iQiyi, Baidu/Amap Maps, QQ Music, Kugou Music, Ximalaya, and Changba. Both Baidu Maps and Amap support lane-level navigation, traffic light alerts, and phone map sharing.

The in-vehicle game center includes over 10 mini-games, supporting touchscreen control, Bluetooth controller connection, and vehicle hardware interaction. It offers in-car KTV entertainment mode and mobile cinema mode, paired with Dolby Atmos and an 8-speaker BOSE audio system. The vehicle provides six intelligent scene modes: Rest, Car Wash, Movie, Child Rest, Rapid Cool Down, and Go Home/Go to Office.

For driver assistance, the new Seltos is equipped with an L2-level intelligent driving assistance system, featuring RSPA remote smart parking assist, PDW-F/S/R parking distance warning, PCA-R parking collision avoidance assist, LFA2 lane keeping assist, FCA forward collision avoidance assist, BCA blind-spot collision avoidance assist, NSCC-Z/C navigation-based smart cruise control, ISLA intelligent speed limit assist, HDA highway driving assist, SEW safe exit warning, BVM blind-spot view monitor, and SVM surround-view monitor.

In terms of comfort and technology, the new model offers a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, front seat heating and ventilation, steering wheel heating, front wireless phone charging, a 100W Type-C fast-charging port, and a smart power tailgate. The powertrain options include a 1.5-liter engine with IVT and a 1.5T engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5T model produces a maximum of 200 hp and 253 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-liter model delivers 115 hp and 144 Nm, with a combined fuel consumption of 6.54 liters per 100 km. The vehicle offers four driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, Smart) and three traction modes (Snow, Mud, Sand).
