Zijin Mining Unit Subscribes RMB 1 Billion for 20.41% Stake in Xiamen Times Shenyuan Venture Fund
Zijin Mining's wholly owned subsidiary Zijin Mining Equity Investment Management (Xiamen) signed a partnership agreement to invest in Xiamen Times Shenyuan Venture Capital Fund as a limited partner, subscribing RMB 1 billion for a 20.41% stake. The fund's total subscribed capital is RMB 4.9 billion, with a seven-year term extendable by up to two years, and focuses on artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, technology applications and frontier technology.
After market close on September 16, 2026, Zijin Mining announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Zijin Mining Equity Investment Management (Xiamen) Co. , Ltd. signed a partnership agreement with Xiamen Puquan Private Fund Management Partnership (Limited Partnership), Kunkun (Hainan) Investment Co. and other partners. Zijin Mining Equity Investment Management (Xiamen) will participate as a limited partner in Xiamen Times Shenyuan Venture Capital Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership), with a subscribed capital contribution of RMB 1 billion, representing a 20.41% subscribed share of the fund. The fund mainly invests in artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, technology applications, frontier technology and other fields. Zijin Mining is principally engaged in the exploration and development of copper, gold, zinc, lithium, silver, molybdenum and other metal mineral resources and in research on engineering technology applications, and has accelerated its expansion into the new energy and new materials industries.
The Times Shenyuan fund has total subscribed capital of RMB 4.9 billion and a term of seven years from the initial closing date, which may be extended by no more than two years at the sole discretion of the general partner. Among the partners, Zijin Mining Equity Investment Management (Xiamen) and Runze Intelligent Computing Technology Group Co. each subscribed RMB 1 billion, jointly ranking as the largest limited partners with 20.41% each. Fujian Mindong Times Rural Investment Development Partnership (Limited Partnership), Zhengzhou Yiren Industrial Co. and natural person Tang Yue each subscribed RMB 500 million, each holding a 10.20% subscribed share. Lens Technology Co. , Kunkun (Hainan) Investment Co. and eight other limited partners each subscribed RMB 200 million. Among the contributors to Xiamen Puquan Private Fund Management Partnership (Limited Partnership), the fund's general partner and executive partner, CATL New Energy Industry Investment Co. holds a 45% subscribed share as a limited partner.
The Times Shenyuan fund may invest directly or through special purpose vehicles in equity of unlisted companies, debt investments convertible into equity, bridge investments and other forms. The fund will not be included in the listed company's consolidated financial statements. Zijin Mining said in the announcement that the participation of Zijin Mining Equity Investment Management (Xiamen) as a limited partner is intended to rely on the research capabilities and project resources of professional investment institutions to track trends in frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence and embodied intelligence. The announcement also said the company will focus on opportunities to apply these technologies in its core business scenarios, including resource exploration, intelligent mine construction, optimization of beneficiation and smelting processes, safety production management and operational decision-making, so as to reserve external resources for the company's digital and intelligent transformation and technological innovation. All funds for this investment come from the company's own capital.
Zijin Mining has already made several arrangements in artificial intelligence and intelligentization. The company established the Zijin Mining Central Research Institute to coordinate scientific and technological innovation, under which specialized research organizations such as the Zijin Information and Intelligent Control Research Institute operate. At its representative mines, Zijin Mining is advancing research into and application of automated, intelligent and unmanned technical equipment, accelerating the development of "intelligent mines" and "lights-out factories." Tibet Julong Copper, as a national pilot unit for intelligent mine construction standards, is advancing research into and application of "5G plus unmanned driving" technology for special plateau environments and has achieved stable operation of multiple unmanned transport vehicles under complex road conditions.
