17 IC Firms Sign Deals in Wuhan Optics Valley, Total Investment Exceeds RMB 6 Billion

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Seventeen integrated circuit companies, including AMEC, Zhongke Feice, Weidiao Nano, and Zhenbao Technology, signed agreements in Wuhan Optics Valley with total investment surpassing RMB 6 billion. These are the first projects under the "Wutong Tree Plan" announced in January 2026, aimed at building a world-class storage-computing integration base. AMEC has developed 54 high-end semiconductor equipment types, with 2025 revenue of approximately RMB 12.38 billion. Zhongke Feice's products cover over 70% of domestic market capacity, with cumulative shipments exceeding 1,500 units.

Seventeen integrated circuit companies completed centralized contract signings in Wuhan Optics Valley, with total investment exceeding RMB 6 billion. Participants included AMEC, Zhongke Feice, Weidiao Nano, and Zhenbao Technology. These are the first batch of landing projects following the January 2026 announcement of the "Wutong Tree Plan," jointly promoted by the East Lake High-tech Zone and chain-leading enterprises such as YMTC. The plan aims to build a world-class storage-computing integration industrial base within a 60-square-kilometer area, centered on YMTC with a 4.5-kilometer radius. On the signing day, provincial party secretary Guan Zhiou met with the entrepreneurs participating in the plan, with YMTC Holding Chairman and President Chen Nanxiang and the chairmen of the aforementioned companies in attendance.

AMEC, a leading domestic semiconductor equipment maker, has developed 54 types of high-end semiconductor equipment covering etching, thin film, metrology and inspection, and CMP wet processes. As of the end of June 2026, the company had cumulatively put more than 8,800 reaction chambers into mass production across over 220 production lines domestically and internationally, with 2025 revenue of approximately RMB 12.38 billion, a record high.

Shenzhou Semiconductor focuses on RF power supply development, and its self-developed products have been batch-introduced into equipment manufacturers such as AMEC, Piotech, and NAURA, adapting to advanced processes for logic and memory chips.

Zhongke Feice's core products are bright/dark-field nano-patterned wafer defect inspection equipment, accounting for about 14% of front-end equipment capital expenditure in wafer fabs, the fourth-largest segment after lithography, thin-film deposition, and etching. To date, Zhongke Feice's products have covered over 70% of domestic market capacity, with cumulative shipments exceeding 1,500 units. Following the signing, Zhongke Feice's Central China R&D and production base project will be located in Wuhan Future Science City, extending from R&D to manufacturing.

Weina Hexin is a globally leading storage-computing integrated AI chip company, having pioneered the three-dimensional storage-computing integrated 3D-CIM technology system. The company plans to build a Wuhan R&D center in the Optics Valley Storage-Computing Innovation Park to conduct R&D on 3D-CIM chip technology. Most of these 17 companies are setting up R&D centers in Optics Valley rather than production bases, meaning a pool of engineers, patents, and technical standards will settle here. Spatially, Optics Valley is planning a "5-minute industrial collaboration circle" centered on YMTC with a 4.5-kilometer radius, and all these signed companies will land within this circle.

Over the past decade, provincial, municipal, and district state-owned capital has invested more than RMB 30 billion cumulatively in the storage industry. Optics Valley now hosts over 300 integrated circuit industry chain enterprises, with output value rising from approximately RMB 5 billion in 2014 to over RMB 100 billion in 2025, averaging 30% growth over the past five years. Its goal is to build a world-class storage-computing integration industrial base by 2030.
