Air China C919 Begins Daily Beijing-Ulaanbaatar Flights, Marking First Regular International Route

In August 2026, an Air China C919 aircraft operated by the airline departed from Beijing Capital International Airport to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, marking the launch of the first regular international passenger route for the domestically produced aircraft since it entered commercial service in May 2023. The route operates one round-trip flight per day, setting a new example for the international commercial operations of China's homegrown large passenger jet. The flight departed with a full load of passengers and completed takeoff procedures including taxi, rotation, and cloud penetration, moving into a phase of regular operation.

To facilitate the smooth cross-border operation of the C919, the Capital Airport Customs under Beijing Customs devised a comprehensive port supervision and support plan. Customs officials collected key information on the aircraft's structure, cabin layout, and cargo hold configuration in advance, and introduced a dedicated "one aircraft, one model" supervision model. Meanwhile, the customs authority completed system registration for online aircraft declarations and document pre-review, ensuring that new aircraft registration could be finalized on the same day of application. Furthermore, to meet long-term international operational needs, Customs also formulated an emergency export plan for aircraft materials clearance, aimed at supporting efficient turnaround and port clearance for subsequent rotations.
