The Fifth International Exhibition Economy Development Forum was held during the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services. Participants exchanged views on topics including the development path of the exhibition industry, the integration of culture, commerce, tourism, sports and exhibitions, and the construction of smart venues. In 2026, the Three-Year Action Plan for High-Quality Development of Beijing's Exhibition Industry (2026-2028) was officially issued, setting out the goal of shaping a "Beijing Exhibition" brand characterized by first-class standards, an international perspective, innovation-driven development and integrated empowerment.

Beijing accounts for about one quarter of China's exhibition market share and hosts numerous major international exhibitions and home-ground diplomatic events. Beijing is advancing high-quality development of the exhibition industry in multiple dimensions: in spatial layout, it is optimizing resource allocation, building a differentiated exhibition-industry-city integration pattern, and coordinating industry upgrading; in government services, it is implementing a "one venue, one policy" approach for key venues, creating a 15-minute exhibition life circle around venues, and promoting integrated "one matter" processing for large exhibitions; it is continuously strengthening integrated empowerment, implementing "one industry, one exhibition," incubating specialized branded exhibitions, expanding "exhibition plus" application scenarios, and connecting cultural, commercial, tourism, sports and exhibition resources. Next, Beijing will focus on converting "exhibition traffic" into "retained consumption," deepen communication and collaboration with internationally renowned organizations, and attract more international exhibition projects and professional talent to land in Beijing.
