ByteDance's Doubao Launches Agent Product Doubao Work with Parallel Agents and Mac GUI Control

ByteDance's Doubao has officially launched Doubao Work, an agent product and brand aimed at productivity scenarios, alongside two new features: multi-agent parallel execution and local GUI operation on Mac systems.
The multi-agent parallel mode allows a single task to be delegated to multiple sub-agents handling different modules, supporting batch organization, modular generation, and multi-dimensional research. In testing, a command to generate a competitive analysis report on the new energy vehicle industry was broken down into four sub-agents—data collection, data analysis, report writing, and chart generation—executed in parallel, with all four deliverables completed simultaneously in about eight minutes.
The Mac local GUI operation feature requires no MCP, API, plugins, or command-line tools, relying solely on visual recognition to perform clicks, input, and drag-and-drop actions. Tests covered three scenarios: in file management, the system automatically identified desktop file icons and names, archiving over 20 research report PDFs by industry category within one minute; in web operations, it automatically completed steps such as opening a browser, logging into accounts, downloading files, and entering data; and in remote phone control, users issued commands from a mobile device, and the computer automatically compiled meeting minutes and synced them to a designated document.
Doubao Work adopts an extensible ecosystem built on skills, connectors, and work partners. The skills store covers more than ten fields, including legal, finance, academia, new media, and e-commerce, offering hundreds of plug-and-play skills. Connectors have integrated with dozens of commonly used enterprise systems, such as Feishu, WeCom, DingTalk, Tianyancha, Hithink Flush, and Kingsoft Docs, supporting cross-platform data reading, writing, and operations. In testing, by adding an enterprise information query skill, the system automatically invoked the Tianyancha connector to retrieve business registration and financing details for ten domestic large-model startups, organizing them into a standardized table. A side workbench allows real-time task progress monitoring and on-the-fly adjustments, with generated documents, web pages, or tables editable via box selection without full regeneration.
Doubao Work is deeply integrated with the Feishu ecosystem at the underlying level. After logging in with a Feishu enterprise account, entering the topic recent operations analysis prompts the system to automatically search related Feishu group chats, operations data tables, and historical topic documents, reconstructing the past three months of operations, including fan growth curves across platforms, common traits of viral content, and topic directions discussed by the team.
Current major players in the AI office productivity sector include Qianwen Office, Tencent WorkBuddy, and Doubao Work. Qianwen Office and Tencent WorkBuddy are deeply tied to the WeChat and WeCom ecosystems, focusing on instant messaging and lightweight document collaboration. Doubao Work leverages the Feishu ecosystem, covering project management, process advancement, and complex workflow decomposition. All three support multi-device use, with Doubao Work offering local GUI operation, persistent cloud PC operation, and remote phone control capabilities.
