C919 Makes International Debut on Beijing-Ulaanbaatar Route as Passenger Numbers Top 5 Million

On August 12, Air China flight CA723 departed from Beijing Capital International Airport bound for Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The flight was operated by the domestically produced C919 aircraft, marking the first time the C919 has served a scheduled international passenger route. The flight covered approximately 1,150 kilometers with a flying time of about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Air China flights CA723 and CA724 correspond to the round-trip service between Beijing and Ulaanbaatar, with one flight operated daily. In the preceding week, this route was flown using Boeing 787 MAX 8 aircraft. Since entering commercial service in May 2023, the C919 has logged more than 130,000 hours of safe flying, carried over 5 million passengers cumulatively, and reached a delivery count of 41 aircraft. These operating figures reflect its actual performance on domestic routes. The August 12 international flight is the first international route served by the C919, which is a regular passenger service between Beijing and Ulaanbaatar. According to the Air China flight schedule, CA723 and CA724 are round-trip flights operating daily, with the distance and flight duration clearly recorded.
