Chengdu Future Industries Hit RMB 50 Billion Revenue in 2025

A future industries conference was recently held in Chengdu, focusing on frontier sectors including embodied intelligence, the low-altitude economy, quantum technology, and brain-computer interfaces. The exhibition area spanned approximately 2,000 square meters, featuring a range of cutting-edge technologies and products. Humanoid robots demonstrated their capabilities on site, drawing crowds of attendees who stopped to interact. Assistive walking robots and exoskeleton robots highlighted applications in motor rehabilitation, while brain-controlled wheelchairs and brain-computer interface rehabilitation devices showcased the latest progress in neural technology. The conference was co-hosted by the China Center for Information Industry Development and the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology.

Data released at the conference showed that in 2025, the revenue scale of Chengdu's future industries reached RMB 50 billion, achieving double-digit year-on-year growth. Research and development intensity stood at 7%, which was 3.1 percentage points higher than the societal average. Chengdu is currently building the first batch of Sichuan Province's future industry pilot zones. Wang Haizhou, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief scientist at NCS Testing Technology, attended the conference and exchanged views with the media on topics such as the integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation.
