China H1 2026 Advertising Revenue Up 11.3% to RMB 1.0374 Trillion, Internet Share 86%

China's advertising industry revenue in the first half of 2026 reached nearly RMB 1.0374 trillion, up 11.3% year on year. Internet advertising revenue grew 25.3% to RMB 612.1 billion, representing 86% of total publishing revenue. Television and newspaper advertising revenue rose 3.4% and 12.6% respectively. Six major provinces and municipalities contributed 81.3% of national revenue, up 12% year on year.

China's advertising industry revenue exceeded RMB 1 trillion in the first half of 2026. Leading advertising enterprises and institutions generated revenue of nearly RMB 1.0374 trillion, up 11.3% from a year earlier.

Internet advertising revenue reached RMB 612.1 billion, up 25.3%, accounting for 86% of total advertising publishing revenue. Television and newspaper advertising revenue stood at RMB 19.88 billion and RMB 1.22 billion, up 3.4% and 12.6% respectively. Film advertising revenue grew several-fold.

Advertising revenue in six provinces and municipalities—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian—totalled RMB 843.21 billion, up 12% year on year, representing 81.3% of the national total, 0.5 percentage points higher than the same period in 2025.
