China-Led First ISO Standard for Fusion Fueling Released with Unanimous Approval from 12 Countries
China has released ISO 19991:2026, the first ISO international standard in the fusion fueling field, covering ultrasonic molecular beam injection fueling technology for fusion devices. Published on August 10, the standard received unanimous approval from 12 countries, including France, Germany and Russia, in the final vote. It is the second fusion-related ISO standard led by the Southwestern Institute of Physics under China National Nuclear Corporation.
The international standard ISO 19991:2026, "Fusion technology - Experimental magnetic confinement fusion facilities - Ultrasonic molecular beam injection fueling technology for fusion devices," developed by China, was officially released on August 10 local time. In the final voting process, all 12 countries, including France, Germany and Russia, cast affirmative votes. This is the first ISO international standard in the fusion fueling field and the second fusion-related ISO standard led by the Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP) of China National Nuclear Corporation.
