China Post Sector Revenue Rises 6% to RMB1.23 Trillion in First Eight Months of 2026

China's postal industry generated RMB1,230.45 billion in business revenue in the first eight months of 2026, up 6.0% year on year, the State Post Bureau reported. Courier revenue rose 7.4% to RMB1,028.92 billion. Total mail and parcel volume reached 145.46 billion items, up 4.0%, with courier volume at 134.06 billion items, up 4.6%. In August alone, industry revenue was RMB150.54 billion, up 5.3%, and courier volume was 16.60 billion items, up 2.7%.

The State Post Bureau released operating data for China's postal industry for the period from January to August 2026.

In the first eight months, postal industry business revenue, excluding direct operating revenue of Postal Savings Bank of China, totaled RMB1,230.45 billion, an increase of 6.0% year on year. Courier business revenue reached RMB1,028.92 billion, up 7.4%.

Mail and parcel volume for the postal industry came to 145.46 billion items in the January-August period, up 4.0% year on year. Courier volume totaled 134.06 billion items, up 4.6%.

In August, postal industry business revenue was RMB150.54 billion, up 5.3% year on year, with courier revenue at RMB127.15 billion, up 6.9%. Mail and parcel volume for the month reached 18.03 billion items, up 2.3%, of which courier volume accounted for 16.60 billion items, up 2.7%.
