China's 15th Five-Year Farm Machinery Plan Released; Zoomlion Unveils 700HP Hybrid Tractor

The 15th Five-Year Plan for the agricultural machinery industry was officially released at the 2026 Agricultural Equipment Industry Development Conference, setting the direction for the next five years toward self-reliance, green leadership, smart integration, and open collaboration. The plan calls for intensified efforts in core technologies and key components, faster development and application of new energy and intelligent technologies, and a shift from scale expansion to quality and efficiency improvement and structural optimization. China's agricultural machinery industry is already the world's largest by scale, but there remains room for improvement in high-end product supply and core technologies, with large-horsepower, high-end, intelligent, and green products becoming the industry's upgrade direction.

Zoomlion continues to advance its "high-end, international, new-energy" strategy for agricultural machinery, refining its high-end intelligent product lineup and global market layout. Its agricultural machinery division has developed four product series: dryland farming machinery for northern China, paddy-field machinery for southern China, cash-crop machinery, and post-harvest processing machinery. Leading products such as wheat harvesters and grain dryers remain at the forefront of the industry, while tractors and harvesters are being upgraded toward high-end, large-scale, and intelligent models.

In the new-energy sector, Zoomlion has actively pursued hybrid technology routes, developing the 700HP DX7004 hybrid wheeled tractor and the H7-600E hybrid high-capacity intelligent combine harvester. At the 2025 Agritechnica exhibition in Hanover, Zoomlion displayed three hybrid tractors and a 480HP hybrid harvester. Among them, the flagship DV3504, equipped with its self-developed MIDD distributed intelligent electric drive system, achieved multiple technological innovations in power, energy efficiency, and intelligence. In 2026, it received nominations in the Large Horsepower and Sustainable Development categories at the European Tractor of the Year awards, becoming the first Chinese 300HP-class tractor to reach the final evaluation in the large-horsepower category.

Zoomlion applies artificial intelligence, new digital technologies, and new energy to agricultural machinery, achieving continuous breakthroughs in intelligent control, autonomous driving, and new-energy powertrains. The DX7004 features a self-developed intelligent driving system and intelligent operation system, enabling autonomous driving and centimeter-level precision operations. The DV3504 and other models have been promoted in multiple overseas markets. Zoomlion's agricultural machinery is now sold in more than 70 countries and regions across Asia, South America, Europe, and Africa, with nearly 50 domestic dealers, achieving full domestic market coverage.

The company's agricultural division is also developing smart agriculture, leveraging AI, big data, and the Internet of Things to deepen the integration of machinery and agronomy. It continues to explore standardized digital planting for the entire rice-growing process, advancing agricultural production from mechanization to digitalization and intelligence.
