CNOOC Starts Full Production at Bozhong 19-6 Phase I, Bohai's First 100-Billion-Cubic-Meter Gas Field

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

CNOOC has brought the Phase I development of the Bozhong 19-6 gas field, the first 100-billion-cubic-meter gas field in the Bohai Sea, into full production. The field, located in the central Bohai Sea, produces over 5,200 tonnes of oil equivalent per day. It holds proven natural gas reserves exceeding 200 billion cubic meters and proven oil liquid reserves exceeding 200 million cubic meters. The project is expected to optimize the regional energy structure and support high-quality economic and social development.

On August 9, the Phase I development project of the Bozhong 19-6 gas field, the first 100-billion-cubic-meter gas field in the Bohai Sea, was brought into full production, with daily oil and gas equivalent output exceeding 5,200 tonnes. The gas field is located in the central Bohai Sea, with proven natural gas geological reserves exceeding 200 billion cubic meters and proven oil liquid geological reserves exceeding 200 million cubic meters.

The Bozhong 19-6 gas field has a burial depth of more than 5,000 meters, with a wide distribution of oil and gas reservoirs and complex reservoir types, making its development more difficult than that of conventional offshore oil and gas fields. The commissioning of the project will optimize the regional energy structure and contribute to high-quality economic and social development.
