Domestic Airline Fuel Surcharges Cut From Aug 5; Ticket Searches Up 42%

From August 5, domestic air route fuel surcharges were lowered again, further reducing travel costs for passengers. On the day of the reduction, flight ticket searches rose 42% year-on-year, with travelers from Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Shanghai showing particularly strong travel interest.

The current peak summer tourism season has seen parent-child families account for over 40% of bookings. Since July, flight bookings by parent-child families increased about 18% year-on-year, while searches related to family trips rose 26% month-on-month.
