The 2026 Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum, held from September 4 to 5, released the "2026 Global New Energy Enterprise Competitiveness Research Report" and the "2026 Global New Energy Top 500" list. The report shows that the total operating revenue of the world's top 500 new energy enterprises exceeded RMB 10 trillion for the first time in 2026, reaching RMB 10.59 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 10.89%. The average enterprise scale also surpassed RMB 20 billion for the first time, reaching RMB 21.183 billion, up 10.94% year-on-year. Enterprises from developed countries generated total revenue of RMB 4.41 trillion, up 16.64% year-on-year, contributing 58.65% of the total revenue increase. Enterprises from emerging market countries posted total revenue of RMB 6.18 trillion, up 7.2% year-on-year.

In terms of revenue share, developed-country enterprises accounted for 41.65% of the top 500, up 1.84 percentage points from 39.81% in 2025, marking a second consecutive year of recovery and crossing the 40% threshold again. Chinese enterprises totaled 260, representing 52% of the list, with combined revenue of RMB 5.49 trillion, up 5.51% year-on-year, and a revenue share of 51.84%. Among the top 10 global new energy enterprises in 2026, Chinese firms held six spots: CATL, PowerChina, BYD, Hengtong Group, GCL Group, and China Energy Engineering. In the top 20, Chinese firms held ten spots, with new entrants including Zhongtian Technology, CRRC, Sungrow, and Tongwei Group. The average scale of the top 10 enterprises reached RMB 210.43 billion, up 8.04% year-on-year, while the top 100 averaged RMB 66.691 billion, up 7.4% year-on-year. The revenue share of energy storage and wind power rose by 0.26 and 0.8 percentage points to 23.02% and 7.57%, respectively, while solar power fell by 2.8 percentage points to 12.17%. At the concurrently held 2026 China (Taiyuan) International Energy Industry Expo, Huayang Group's nearly 400-square-meter exhibition hall displayed no coal, instead showcasing transformation achievements such as the full sodium-ion battery industry chain, high-performance carbon fiber, and coal-based new materials. Sungrow exhibited its 465kW string inverter and PowerTitan 3.0 energy storage system, whose matrix inverter integrates photovoltaic inversion, storage conversion, energy routing, and grid-forming control, promoting the evolution of PV and storage from "external coupling" to "native integration" through multi-port access, constant-voltage DC bus, energy path reconfiguration, and hierarchical coordinated control.
