GTA6 Leak Probe Links Discord User stayonthegrindd to Cyberleek
An investigation has identified Discord user stayonthegrindd as the prime suspect in the GTA6 gameplay leak, with evidence suggesting a direct link to the individual or group known as Cyberleek. Since August 18, Cyberleek has released gameplay footage on the dark web and blockchain. The investigation, based on Reddit clues and blockchain activity records, established a timeline showing stayonthegrindd posted and deleted the same basketball footage on a GTA6 Discord server hours after it appeared on the dark web. The leaked map and driving footage were subsequently uploaded to the blockchain, and a separate clip known as 'Gas' circulated on August 23.
Since August 18, an individual or group calling itself 'Cyberleek' has been releasing GTA6 gameplay footage online. A Discord user has now been identified as the prime suspect, with a chain of evidence gradually emerging. On August 25, a user published an investigation report based on clues on Reddit. The investigation combined the post's content with Cyberleek's blockchain activity records to construct a timeline.
According to the investigation, on August 16, Cyberleek first shared a preview image believed to be the GTA6 map. The following day, Cyberleek uploaded a basketball gameplay clip to the dark web. In the early hours of August 18, a user named 'Cyberleeker' appeared on the dark web forum Dread, publishing the basketball video through multiple hosting sites. About eight hours later, stayonthegrindd entered a GTA6 Discord server, posting and deleting the same basketball video within minutes, claiming the footage was from 2026 and asking members what leaks they wanted to see. When someone replied 'driving footage,' he responded, 'I'll bring back driving gameplay.' While claiming the video was being compressed, he also offered to share the full map first. About an hour and a half later, the leaked map was uploaded to the blockchain. Two hours after that, Cyberleek uploaded the first GTA6 leak video showing character Jason driving to the blockchain.
Additionally, on August 18, a Discord user claimed to have received a private message from stayonthegrindd containing a GTA6 clip of a black vehicle, which was deleted before playback finished - the clip was later known as the 'Gas' leak and did not spread on the blockchain until August 23. The investigation noted that while it cannot be ruled out that stayonthegrindd simply found the basketball video on the dark web and reposted it, the subsequent timeline strongly suggests a direct link to Cyberleek. The key question now is whether this lead can ultimately trace back to the true source of the hack that leaked more than ten GTA6 clips.
