Harbin Advances Aviation and Bio-Manufacturing Clusters; AC332 Helicopter Completes Test Flights

In the height of summer, production lines at Harbin's advanced manufacturing enterprises are running at full capacity. As an old industrial base, Harbin is focusing on building two national advanced manufacturing clusters - the aviation cluster and the Sui-Ha-Da-Qi bio-manufacturing cluster - accelerating their progress toward large-scale, high-end, intelligent and green development. Harbin's Pingfang District is a key carrier of the city's aviation industry, inheriting the historical roots of Harbin's old industrial base. The district has formed a development pattern centered on AVIC Harbin Aircraft, AECC Dong'an and Chinalco Dongqing, with Guanglian Aviation and Dong'an Industrial among a cohort of supporting enterprises clustered around them. The AC332 helicopter has completed functional and reliability test flights, while the AC352 medium multi-purpose helicopter has filled a gap in the domestic market. In recent years, AVIC Harbin Aircraft has accelerated the upgrading of its aviation products. AECC Dong'an is a specialized R&D and production base for China's light aviation power and aviation mechanical transmission systems, with unique technical advantages in aluminum-magnesium casting, gear and casing machining, thermal surface treatment, special welding, physical and chemical measurement and non-destructive testing, building a first-class domestic manufacturing system. In the low-altitude economy track, the synergistic effects of the industrial cluster are becoming increasingly evident. At the production workshop of Harbin United Aircraft Technology Co. , Ltd. in Pingfang District, workers and automated production equipment work in close coordination, with the Boying T1400 unmanned helicopter production line running at full capacity.
