The patient, Jerry Fort, is preparing for a high-risk organ transplant. In the video caption, he wrote: "I just want to play GTA 6." The video quickly spread, accumulating over 11 million views within days.
The gaming community launched a GoFundMe campaign for Jerry Fort to cover the costs of the transplant and subsequent rehabilitation. The fundraiser raised more than $50,000 in a short time.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
