At around 6:25 a. m. on the 8th, a local train (eight-car formation) from Sakuragicho to Hachioji on the JR Yokohama Line stopped at Yabe Station in Sagamihara City after overshooting the stopping position by about 50 meters. The approximately 340 passengers on board were uninjured.

The roughly 30 passengers who had planned to alight at Yabe Station were guided to Sagamihara Station, which the train reached four minutes later, to transfer to an upbound train. The incident caused delays on both the up and down lines, affecting about 900 people. The company has questioned the driver and is investigating the cause.
